Prayer & Care

Six Steps for Leading a Time of Prayer and Care:

Please be available in front of Prayer and Care before the audience exits with your clipboard and provided card, brochure and pen. Be visible to those walking by and aware of those who may be timid to approaching prayer and care. Individuals who know you will come over to talk with you. Please let them know you will be back with them in just a few minutes so we can focus on the respondents.

When intercepting a respondent female will meet with female, male with male. You are not there to fix the individual, only to listen with love and respond with care regarding the situation they are facing. Listen intently, to what the respondent is sharing. Please utilize the brochure card to help navigate their next steps. Inform them of ministries offered that may be a benefit to them.

03

Please take your respondent into prayer and care room. Introduce yourself and pick an area to sit or stand together. Give your respondent info card and let them fill that out. Inquire with grace the reason they made a decision to come for prayer.

Pray with the respondent. Be very conscious of the amount of time you spend with the respondent. Use a 10 minute mark as your boundary and guideline. If a respondent expresses suicidal thoughts please get another member of the prayer and care team of the same gender to assist you. You are also welcome to reach out to the support and recovery pastor for help with this matter.

05

Conclude your conversation and thank your respondent for having the courage to come to prayer and care. Let the respondent know you will follow up with them. Walk with the respondent as they leave prayer and care.

06

Take a picture of the card and follow up with the respondent at least once the following week. Place the completed card in the container on the 2nd shelf.
